Tchekhovitch was introduced to Gurdjieff's ideas after attending a public talk which was being presented in Constantinople by Ouspensky. He then followed Gurdjieff to France where the 'Institute for the Harmonious Development of Man' was established. This book contains simple anecdotal stories of that time and shows how Gurdjieff used ordinary everyday circumstances to reveal something Real to his pupils.
